Our client:
Our client is a prestigious Swiss Private Bank.
As a Legal Counsel, you will be dedicated to the support of the London Branch. You will be responsible for the provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal, contractual and regulatory risks under European law.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and support for miscellaneous internal projects developing the company (and its London branch more specifically).
• Provide legal support for regulatory projects under European law and their implementation in Europe (specifically for the London branch), in collaboration with the other legal advisers of the company in Europe as well as with its Swiss bank colleagues.
• Provide support on the European coordination on legal matters and regulations.
• Provide legal advice and support to the London branch and secondarily to the different units and departments of the company.
• Write, negotiate and follow-up contractual documentation. Provide legal protection and risk management advice on contract management.
• Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff.
• Provide legal support for complaints from clients and litigation. Review progress of outstanding litigation, liaise with and manage external lawyers, and advise management accordingly.
• Be an active member of the Executive Committee and Due Diligence Committees of the London branch.
• Legal and Regulatory responsibilities:
* Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the company’s Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time.
* Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.
Your technical skills:
• 2 to 7 years’ experience as Legal Advisor or as a Lawyer specialised in European banking and financial law.
• Graduate or LLM in UK is required.
• An experience in London is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and French.
